The biggest sports star in the world playing basketball with the most famous cartoon characters of all time? That sounds like a recipe for a blockbuster - and that’s just what Space Jam was. After years of rumors, Space Jam 2 looks to finally be inching toward reality.
LeBron’s Space Jam sequel will be produced by Ryan Coogler (of Black Panther fame) and directed Terence Nance, according to the Hollywood Reporter. It will begin filming during the NBA offseason next summer. The announcement of Space Jam 2 is the latest and greatest endeavor in James’ burgeoning Hollywood empire. James has produced numerous shows over the last year, including the docu-series Best Shot and his barbershop talk show The Shop.
Following the confirmation, actor Kevin Hart reportedly announced Thursday that he was just going to assume he’s in Space Jam 2 unless he hears otherwise.
“If they’re making the Space Jam sequel I think they’ll be making, there’s just no way I won’t be in it,”
