Bad Azz of Tha Dogg Pound Gangsta Crips has died at the age of 43. Fellow West Coast OG Kokane, who collaborated with Bad Azz and Snoop Dogg on 'Wrong Idea,' confirmed the news via Facebook on Monday night (November 11).
The rapper, real name Jamarr Antonio Stamps, is believed to have died in custody at the Southwest Detention Center in Riverside, California, after being incarcerated as of November 8.
The rapper was well-known and highly respected as a Dogg Pound affiliate and OG Crip.
Daz Dillinger, Snoop Dogg, Kokane, Glasses Malone and KXNG Crooked and others all expressed sadness and dismay over the death. The cause of death has yet to be revealed.
He was known for his work with Snoop Dogg, he also worked with the late Tupac Shakur, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, Bizzy Bone, Warren G, Kurupt, MC Eight and Mistah F.A.B.
He released his debut solo album ‘Word On Tha Streets’ back in 1998 and was also part of the LBC Crew (Long Beach City Crew).
According to an official screenshot from Dillinger, Stamps was next due to appear in court tomorrow, November 13.
