Hologram of Amy Winehouse Set for 2019 Worldwide Tour

Updated: Nov 29, 2018

A hologram of Amy Winehouse is set for a worldwide tour in 2019. A projection of the late singer will “perform” digitally remastered arrangements of her songs, backed by a live band, singers and what the production company Base Hologram calls “theatrical stagecraft”.

Amy’s father told Reuters that proceeds from the tour will be dedicated to the growth of The Amy Winehouse Foundation, an organization founded to help young people suffering from substance abuse. “Fans have been clamoring for something new from Amy, but really there isn’t anything new,” Mitch said. “We felt this would be a tremendous way for Amy both to revisit her fans through a hologram, and also an incredible way to raise money for our foundation.” BASE Hologram Chief Executive Brian Becker revealed that the company will perform a series of steps to create Amy’s hologram. They will hire an actress to imitate Amy’s stage movements and will create the image of her likeness in hologram form using prosthetics and computer-generated imagery. “We will do the best we can in terms of honoring her legacy,” Becker mentioned. “This is a celebration.” Mitch Winehouse shared that despite the fact that it may be difficult for him to watch the hologram, he believes his daughter would approve of the tour, especially because it promises to support her foundation. “Her legacy is not just about music now,” he said. “Her legacy is about something else. Her legacy is about helping young people.
