Google released its annual "Year in Search" data to celebrate 2019. And as part of it, Google shared everything we were googling throughout the year (organized into multiple categories). Below are the top 10 things people searched for in 2019:
10. Jussie Smollet
In January, Jussie alleged that he had been attacked by two men in a racist and anti-gay hate crime. After an investigation, Chicago authorities said he had made a false police report. A grand jury then indicted him on 16 felony charges — which were later dropped by Illinois prosecutors.
9. iPhone 11
Apple announced its new phones back in early September and it came with some major upgrades to its cameras — specifically with its Pro and Pro Max’s models which come with three lenses.
8. Game of Thrones
The final season of Game of Thrones ran from April through May, and all six episodes were MUST-SEE TV! Even though the finale was, well, not what anybody wanted.
7. Avengers: Endgame
The final chapter of phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was released in April and has gone on to become the highest-grossing movie of all time.
6. Luke Perry
Luke died at age 52 after suffering a massive stroke on March 4.
5. Antonio Brown
Despite being in the prime of his career, Antonio was cut from both the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots this year for his behavior.
4. Hurricane Dorian
Hurricane Dorian caused catastrophic damage to the Bahamas in early September. President Donald Trump also made the false claim that Hurricane Dorian was on track to hit Alabama.
3. Nipsey Hussle
The rapper was shot and killed in a parking lot outside his Marathon Clothing store in South LA on March 31.
2. Cameron Boyce
The Jessie and Descendants actor died at age 20 on July 6, due to a “unexpected" event related to epilepsy.
1. Disney+
Arguably the streaming service was the biggest product to launch this year (especially for Disney, Star Wars, or Marvel fans). And Disney+ also introduced us to this year's biggest breakout star: Baby Yoda.
