The 1997 movie chronicling the life of Tejano star and Texas music icon Selena Quintanilla Perez turns 22 today.
'Selena,' the 1997 biopic, was released nationwide three years after her death on March 21.
Starring then-newcomer Jennifer Lopez, who would be nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance, the movie was also recognized with an American Latino Media Arts Award for Outstanding Feature Film, while the official soundtrack earned Grammy nods for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.
